Sport
Every donation goes towards supporting those in grassroots and support roles within sports, where mental health challenges are at their greatest

Supporting grassroots sport
When people think of sport, we often think of high level professional sports, which comes with its own pressures, but often with lots of support options for people's mental health.
However, when it comes to grassroots sports, those support services aren’t always accessible. With the unique pressures that go with sport, it’s not surprising that instances of anxiety and depression are up to twice as likely to occur in grassroots and lower levels of sport.

Who we work with
We have been partners with the PGA (Professional Golfers Association) for the last 4 years, helping groundskeepers, club employees and coaching members with mental health training and therapy.
Their passion and dedication to helping their membership and the wider golfing community is clear, and shared by our commitment to those in grassroots sports.
We have developed partnerships with England Golf and England Boxing to promote mental health awareness, training and therapy support to those affected by the pressures of sport, and who may not have access to traditional avenues of help.

300+ hours of support
Through it's partnership with the PGA we have been able to support over 70 golfing professionals (from grounds keepers to club shop employees) with their mental health through therapy services. This equates to over 300 hours of therapy.

Nottingham Forest pitch side walk
Listen to Carecoins’ own Nathan Shearman discussing the role sports play in young people’s mental health, with Colin Eley from Nottingham Forest Community Trust

The support from Carecoins saved my life - literally. I don't think I'd be here without the help I received.

The trainer was great, and having someone who is a therapist delivering it made it feel more valid somehow. I definitely feel like I learned a lot.

I'd been on the waiting list for weeks with my GP, but when I got referred through to Carecoins they found me a therapist within a day, and I had my first session less than 72 hours after speaking to someone. I'd been holding so much in and it really helped to just have an expert to let it all out to.
